Popis
Tato mohutná juka pocházející z Mexika a jihovýchodní část Spojených států amerických, kde roste ve výškách až 1800 m nadmořské výšky. Vyznačuje se impozantním vzrůstem. Kmen může dosahovat 25 až 30 cm v průměru a výšky kolem 5 metrů. Má 70 až 100 cm dlouhé tuhé zelené listy, opatřené na okrajích silnými zakroucenými vlákny, které dodávají rostlině neobyčejný vzhled. Mrazuodolnost této juky výrazně snižuje půdní vlhkost. Je proto nutné ji vysazovat do řádně odvodněné a propustné zeminy. Vyžaduje vynikající drenáž.
Velmi doporučujeme výsev tohoto exempláře do volné půdy v ČR.

Yucca carnerosana / cold hardy down between -17 - 20°C – maximum height at maturity 5 m ( 16 ft )
Description
This massive yucca is native to Mexico and the southeastern United States, where it grows at elevations of up to 1800 m ( 5905 ft ) above sea level. It is characterised by its impressive size, yet it’s overall trunk height and trunk girth doesn’t grow to such degrees as its very close relative “Yucca carnerosana.” The trunks’ girth only reaches half the size of Y. faxoniana which is 25 to 30 cm (10 – 12 inches ) in diameter and to a total height of around 5 metres ( 16 ft ). It has 70 to 100 cm ( 27.5 – 39 inches ) long stiff green leaves, with thick, twisted fibers on the edges, which give the plant an extraordinary appearance. The hardiness of this yucca is greatly reduced by soil moisture. We recommend planting this specimen in open, well-drained permeable soil on the south side of the garden, preferably in a rock garden ( rockery) or in higher ground in full sun.
Yuccas should ALWAYS be planted at least 20 - 30 cm ( 7.9 – 11.8 inches) above the surrounding soil so that excess water flows away from the roots of the plant and does not remain around the root systém otherwise root and trunk rot may start to occur. These plants love to be planted nearby rocks and stones, which are warmed up by the sun, giving the plant's roots plenty of needed warmth during the growing season.
We highly recommend sowing this specimen in open soil in the Czech Republic.
